Spent a very pleasant day yesterday, at a craft fair & I'm so pleased to say that some of my new "line" were sold. Three altered bottles & a tin, two of my covered notebooks.
The lady that bought these almost bought one of my herb cupboards, but couldn't decide where she would put it in her house. She is coming to another show I'm doing at the end of  November for some more covered notebooks & some more altered bottles.
Her husband also bought my handpainted toast rack. A few other painted pieces went as well, along with my new line of bottle top magnets.
I am posting a couple of photos of another little pincushion, set in a silver napkin holder, & a couple of altered matchboxes. I saw some of these on www.pinterest.com & thought I'd give them a go as I thought they were very sweet & interesting. Sorry about the date on the photos, I forgot to alter the camera!!!!

Posting some pictures for you this morning, all new makes, slowly getting the hang of things.
Trouble is, where I keep trawling Pinterest, I keep getting new ideas!!! Must learn to keep my
"creative" juices under control.
Hope you enjoy the pictures, a couple of them required flash as it's such a dull & horrible day
here today.
Three very ordinary soup tins.  Lightly shabbied
with added image, string & embellishment

A very old wooded tray, shabbied  & decoupaged.
I have a wooded bread bin, which I think I will do to match
the tray!!!

A lovely little wooden case, would make a nice jewellery
or keepsake box

For a few years now I have painted dotty magnetic pegs.
Saw the lace idea on Pinterest & thought I would give it a go.

A little 5"x 5" collaged canvas

Another collaged canvas, 8" x 10"

Showing you some pictures this morning of altered bottles.
Two of these bottles are actual perfume bottles, one is a single stem vase
with added painted cork & the last one is an old bottle dug up from the garden, many years ago.

These four bottles started life out as miniature
whiskey bottles.

Today I'm showing you 3 new pin cushions, & some shabby hearts, I tend to make the hearts in the
course of an evening. These have taken me about 10 days to do & I'm quite pleased with them.
I will really have to improve my photography skills to show off my makes more professionally!!!
Small pin cushion in a tiny teacup

Small pin cushion in a cut glass salt pot

Another pin cushion nestled in a tuna tin

Shabby hearts made from various fabrics
& embellished with lace & old buttons

Yesterday I posted some photographs of some new makes, although the white bottle
with the blue roses is one of the first things I attempted, when I started doing this new craft,
a couple of weeks ago. I added the lace ribbon with the crystal, within the last couple of days.
Altered Marmite jar
I am now posting some more makes from the beginning, hopefully as each week passes you will see some
improvement!!
Paper mache heart, would make lovely keepsake box

This is my new blog. Completely seperate from my lanesendbears.blogspot.com
That blog is now solely for what the title suggests.
This blog is for my handpainted items, although I don't seem to be doing much of that
now.
I'm more into decoupage now, which I did a few years back, also making pincushions
& altering bottles. I'm also dabbling with shabby chic-ing. So listed below are a few things
that I have been creating over the last few weeks.
I do hope you enjoy & thank you for stopping by.
This little vintage (60's) herb/spice cupboard, given a new lease
of life.

Inside

Handmade, vintage herb/spice cupboard, shabbied for
a "newer" look.

Inside

This little bottle has been handpainted, sanded & decoupaged.
The original top was lost, so I painted a cork one & added
a little butterfly for decoration. The bottle is finished with a lace
bow & genuine Swarovski crystal in the knot of the bow.

This bottle is an old one that has been sitting in
my garden. I have covered it with crumpled, blue tissue paper
& added various embellishments. The lace has been coffee
stained, just to give the impression of being older

This is another very old bottle, again covered in
in crumpled tissue paper, gold this time, various embellishments, & a touch
of pewter liner finish the look.

This was a milk bottle someone gave me a while back for a paint project,
which I never got round to. I've now painted the bottle white, added some lace
& a lovely old picture. The top to the bottle is an old Cava cork, painted with a
"pearl" added to complete the look
This is the first of my pincushions, there are a couple more in the pipeline.
This is made from a tuna tin, a satin type fabric, some lace from an old
blouse, picked up from a charity shop. The added embellishments have
been stored away for years!!!

This is a little notebook, covered in purple velour, from
a pair of trousers, again a charity shop find.
Added embellishments, from my stash.
